1. What is AKSItext?
AKSItext is the most affordable and convenient accident insurance that you can easily avail via text. It is the only accident insurance that costs P10.00 from your load or postpaid plan that will cover you with P10,000 accident insurance for 15 days.
2. Who are eligible to this product?
All individuals aged 3 to 65 regardless of sex, race or occupation.
3. How much is the accident coverage and for how long?
You are covered with a P10,000 accident insurance good for 15 days. Philam Life will pay the benefit if accident occurred during the 15-day coverage period and this accident results to death within 180 days from date of accident.
4. How can I avail of AKSItext?
Getting AKSItext is easy. Just text PHILAM AKSI ON FirstName/MiddleInitial/LastName/Address/Birthdate in mmddyyyy to 8070. Example: PHILAM AKSI ON Rose/A/Que/8 Rizal St Makati/11231979. Only P10 will be deducted from your load if you are using prepaid or will be billed if you are using a postpaid plan.
5. How would I know if my text went through or if I got AKSItext?
After texting your details to 8070, a text message confirming your coverage with corresponding certificate number will be sent to you. You will be prompted that your coverage starts in 24 hours and will end in 15 days. PHILAM AKSI: <Complete Name> ay insured from mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM to mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM. Certificate # <XXXXXXXXXX>. 6. Can I register more than 1 AKSItext?
Only one AKSItext coverage can be active for one person at any given 15-day period.
7. Can I double my coverage by registering two times?
No, you cannot double your coverage by registering two times. Subscribers will receive an error message which contains the same Certificate # of his INITIAL SUCCESSFUL enrollment.
8. Can I use the same phone to register my family and friends?
Yes, you can use the same mobile number to enroll a family member, relative or friend. You can register as many loved ones as you can, using your mobile phone by simply texting the details of the other person you are enrolling. Syntax is: PHILAM AKSI ON <FirstName/MiddleInitial/LastName/Address/Birthdate in mmddyyyy to 8070. Example: PHILAM AKSI ON Ana/T/Sy/10 Dian St Makati/01061990.
9. Can I register if I am using a postpaid plan or a Talk and Text sim card?
Yes, you can enroll to AKSItext if you are either prepaid or postpaid plan of both Smart and Talk and Text. For those on prepaid, only airtime load or smartload can be used. This is the regular load used to call, text and download. The following kinds of load cannot enroll you to AKSItext:
- Unlitext (258) - An unlimited sms offered to prepaid subscribers.
- All Text - All text packages are sms packages for Smart to Smart and text to other networks.
- Pasaload - Peer to peer transaction done real time.
10. Can I enroll if I am outside the country?
If you are outside the Philippines and your SMART line is on roaming, then you cannot enroll to AKSITEXT.
11. Where do I get my policy?
The confirmation text message stating your AKSItext coverage and certificate number serves as your policy. The confirmation message is: PHILAM AKSI: <Complete Name> ay insured from mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM to mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM. Certificate # <XXXXXXXXXX>. Ito ay auto-renewed. Ipagbigay alam sa pinakamalapit na kamag-anak itong certificate #.

12. Can I renew my coverage?
Your coverage will be renewed automatically at the end of every 15-day coverage. Your phone load should have a maintaining balance of at least P10 so your coverage will be auto-renewed. Your coverage will not be auto-renewed if you do not have sufficient load.
13. How will I know that my coverage was auto-renewed?
A confirmation message on your auto- renewed coverage will be sent to you. If your first coverage ends on Jan 15, 2009 13:00, a confirmation message on your auto-renewed coverage will be sent to you on Jan 15, 2009, 13:00. This will be valid until Jan 30, 2009, 13:00.
Your phone load should have a maintaining balance of at least P10 so your coverage will be auto-renewed. Your coverage will not be auto-renewed if you do not have sufficient load.
14. How will I stop my coverage?
Text NO <certificate #> to 8070 to end coverage.
15. Who can be my designated beneficiary or who can claim my insurance?
For claims, we are guided by the hierarchy of beneficiaries mandated both by the Philippine Insurance Commission and the International Insurance Code. These are as follows:
- legal widow or widower
- surviving children (legitimate or illegitimate with necessary documents establishing that you are his/her parent)
- surviving parents
- surviving brothers and sisters
- executors or administrators of estate
16. If I accidentally erased the confirmation message and was not able to forward this to my family, where can I get my certificate number?
You can get your certificate number, either:
- Text PHILAM CERT <FName/MI/LName/Address/Bday in mmddyyyy> to 8070. P2.50 per text
- Call Philam Call Center at 5282000 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on regular business days.
17. If I was able to inform my family that I have such kind of coverage but was not able to give the certificate number, will Philam Life honor the claim of my beneficiaries?
Yes. The beneficiary can go to any Philam Life office, give the name of the insured together with the necessary documents to process claim.
18. Where will my beneficiary go to claim the insurance?
Your beneficiary can go to any Philam Life office to file the claim. Documents required are:
- original or certified true copy of the police report
- barangay certification of time and date of accident/death
- claimant's form (available at all Philam Life offices/branches)
- original or certified true copy of death certificate
- proof of relationship to the insured (e.g. marriage license if spouse, birth certificate if child, etc.)
19. How long can my beneficiary get the benefit?
The benefit shall be paid within thirty (30) days after necessary documents have been received and verified. If such verification is not made within sixty (60) days after such receipt of documents, then the benefit shall be paid within ninety (90) days after receipt
20. Will the insurance proceeds be in cash or check?
Insurance proceeds will be in the form of check payable to the beneficiary. This can immediately be encashed at the branch's depository bank subject to the bank's identification process.
21. Does it mean that an accidental death has to occur in the Philippines to claim the benefit?
No, your beneficiary will still be entitled to the P10,000 insurance even if the death caused by accident happened outside the Philippines. There are a few countries excluded from this rule. The coverage is for accidental death only. Death due to illness does not qualify one to claim. Benefits will not be given for injury or events caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partly:
- by intentionally self-inflicted injury, suicide or any attempt thereat , while sane or insane
- by war, invasion, act of foreign enemy, acts of terrorism, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), mutiny, riot, civil commotion, strike, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrections, conspiracy, military or usurped power, martial law or state of siege, or any of the events or causes which determine the proclamation or maintenance of martial law or state of siege, seizure, quarantine, or nationalization by or under the order of any government or public or local authority
- by any weapon or instrument employing atomic fission, thermonuclear fusion or any form of radiation, whether in time of peace or war
- by homicide or any attempt thereof, or physical injuries, occasioned by the provocation of the policy owner
22. If I have an unpaid loan with the bank, will the insurance proceeds be paid to the bank?
No. The proceeds will always be paid to your beneficiary.
