Education

In response to the situation in the war-torn Basilan, Philam Foundation, in partnership with Philippine Business for Social Progress, has pledged to help fund the education of those children through a fund drive called AID FOR BASILAN CHILDREN (ABC) FUND.

ABC Fund is a campaign to generate fund and resources for the educational assistance to the children of Lamitan Central Elementary School. It is a six-year commitment to raise funds to help the 535 students finish their elementary years.

Aside from its on-going ABC project, the Philam Foundation also provided assistance to different institutions, such as Ayala Foundation’s Project Gilas, wherein Philam Foundation sponsored one school in ARMM. It also sponsored the UP-Harvard National Congress Project, DECS Adopt-a-School project, scholars of Dual Tech Center, and support for the endowment fund of UP College of Social Work- CSWCP.

Assistance was likewise extended to institutions such as the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, Asia Rice Foundation, Center for Leadership, Fundacion Santiago, Environmental Science for Social Change and Maria Lena Buhay Foundation.

Last August, over 80 boxes of various reference books have been turned over for the use of 5,000 students of the Foundatin’s adopted scool, Araullo High School. The Philam Plans also donated furniture and office equipment to the said school in January.
